ABOUT COMFORT INDIA TRUST

Since 2003, Raju BS and his wife Asha have been bringing hope and humanitarian aid to people living in impoverished areas around the Indian city of Bangalore. Whenever and where ever possible they bring the good news of freedom, healing and love of Jesus to those who will hear. Their work frequently brings them into contact with those who society has abandoned - the widows, orphans, the sick, those with no social or political standing and the poorest of the poor.

Most evenings Asha can be found giving academic lessons to children living in one of Bangalore's slums. Raju makes frequent trips to underdeveloped areas around Bangalore where he has established several schools of biblical studies to educate and provide community to the people living  there. In addition to their educational work, Raju makes frequent contact with Hindu and Muslim religious leaders and scholars in his area in order to bring the good news of Christ as well as build relationships which reduce the animosity that commonly erupts between different religious groups.

Although they are poor themselves, whenever possible, Asha and Raju provide humanitarian care such as food, clothing, medicine, blankets and other basic necessities to those they meet. But the parts of India they are working in are very poor and the need is very great. So sometimes all they have to offer is comfort, prayer and counsel to those who suffer.

Comfort India Trust is a registered charitable organization which is not affiliated with or supported by any church or parachurch organization. For over a decade, Raju funded his ministry entirely on his own through employment as a night guard. This has often resulted in sickness and financial want for Raju. In 2015, American writer Rebecca Trotter stepped in to raise funds to support the work of Comfort India Trust. With your support, Raju hopes to be able to quit his night guard job by the end of 2015, allowing him to continue his ministry work while preserving his health and providing for his family's needs.

You can follow Raju and Asha's work on their blog, found here.
